Denton
City County Day School is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board
consists of members of the community that have an interest in early
childhood education. DCCDS staff is made up of an Executive Director,
Assistant to the Director, full time preschool teachers' and part time
preschool teachers and one cook. We also have volunteers from the community,
high schools and the two local Universities. DCCDS mission is to provide
quality affordable childcare on a sliding scale basis (based on family
size and annual income of family) to families in Denton County. Parents
pay a weekly fee, this just a small portion of the cost
of providing care for a child at DCCDS, the
school than seeks other funding sources to cover the remainder. The
school is a United Way of Denton County partner agency and is licensed
by the state of Texas Protective and Family Services.
Denton
City County Day School is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 5:30
pm. Children are offered breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack daily
that meet their nutritional needs. Children are grouped in classrooms
according to age and birth date. The age range is two to five years
of age, during the school year. During the summer we offer a summer
care program for elementary age school children. To help meet the changing needs of our local community and
neighborhood, Denton City County Day School has several bilingual staff members.
The bilingual Teachers help children master the English
language and prepare for public school.
All the Teachers at DCCDS use a theme based curriculum, which changes each week. Teachers at DCCDS are committed to the quality care each individual child receives. We offer parents a lower child to teacher ratio than is state recommended. At DCCDS we strive towards providing an atmosphere of care, love and learning for children and their families.
